WASHINGTON – Today, Senator Jim Justice announced he is joining the Bipartisan Senate Community Development Finance Caucus:
“I am excited to join the Senate Community Development Finance Caucus where we can coordinate, expand, and continue to promote sustained economic growth through the help of Community Development Financial Institutions. West Virginia can and will continue to benefit from the good Community Development Banks bring to low income and rural areas, and I look forward to the work ahead with the caucus,” said Senator Jim Justice.
BACKGROUND:
- The Community Development Financial Institutions Fund’s mission is to expand economic opportunity for underserved people and communities by supporting the growth and capacity of a national network of community development lenders, investors, and financial service providers.
- The Caucus has four main priorities:
- Education: Organize and host events focused on targeted challenges facing community-based lenders to educate Members and staff.
- Coordination: Coordinate bipartisan efforts – regulatory or legislative – related to CDFIs and provide a venue for staff-to-staff information sharing.
